Hostage-Down.net started in 2000 as a Counter-Strike server and community.  After playing on the megafrag servers and loving the community there I (Patrick Sebring, aka monkey13) created hostage-down.net out of a spare computer in my Seattle apartment.  The megafrag servers became The-Space.net and was hosted by Speakeasy networks in Seattle.  The servers are still running at speakeasy though the community has moved on to other games.  Once hostage-down.net was rated the 4th most popular server in the world (by theclq.com) based on shear hours played.  Currently the servers are pretty much a ghost town.  I cunnently host a CS Source, CS 1.6 server and Ship server.
